Go Short makes film route

05 Apr 2016

Short film festival Go Short made a film route with tips for international students and employees in Nijmegen. Internationals can sometimes have trouble finding their way to events like this, says Go Short creative producer Barbara Strating.

Barbara Strating, cultural studies student, came up with the idea because she used to work as a secretary at the Faculty of Science. She recently started working at Go Short, and wanted to invite her former coworkers. ‘I remembered from the five years that I worked with them, that they found little information about activities in Nijmegen’, she says. ‘Besides that, Dutch subtitles can be a problem, for example when the film is Spanish and someone is from Hungary. At Go Short, are films are either in English, or with English subtitles.’

Go Short focuses on Austrian art films and animal short films this year. One of the highlights is the 360° film The Secret World of Moths, in a pop-up planetarium. The rest of the route Strating has put together, looks like this:

Thursday:
14.00: EU4 It’s All Relative
16.00: Keep Your Head Up
20.00: EU2 Above and Beyond

Friday:
20.00: Beasty Boys
20.30: De Correspondent presents
22.30: Short from the Grave

Saturday:
14.00: EU 1 Reconstructing Life
16.00: Oscar short animation
21.00: International Highlights

Go Short 2016 starts tomorrow night, and ends on Sunday. / Jozien Wijkhuijs
