Radboud celebrates birthday with Kraantje Pappie

12 Apr 2018

Again, a homegrown rapper will perform as closing act at Radboud Rocks. After Ronnie Flex last year, Kraantje Pappie is this year's headliner at the university birthday festival.

Since Alex van der Zouwen, better known as Kraantje Pappie, gained fame with his album Crane in 2012, he is a known name in the Dutch top 40. At the moment, you can hear the Groningen native on the radio with his recent hits Ja! (with Bizzey) and Lil Craney (see the video below). People who do not love hiphop can know him as the presenter and participant at Expeditie Robinson.

Before ‘Kraantje’ hits the stage, Rondé, Kuenta I Tambu and The Brahms will perform. The Great Student Battle, which debuted last year, will return. Led by the Loco Loco Discoshow, ten student teams will battle each other: who performs best in the challenges, wins. Last year, it was the christian student association VGSN-TQ – you can find a plaque in the street in front of the Cultuurcafé.

Radboud Rocks takes place on the 24th of May, at 16.00. The festival is part of the 95th dies natalis. The full programme can be found here.
