New at the Refter: a salad bar
Who does not pay attention, could easily walk right by it: the salad bar in the Refter that has opened today. The space that held the campus shop until January, is now open for you to pick your own salad and fruit.
The opening of the salad bar had been planned for quite a while now, says David Niessen from Facility Services. ‘The Refter is renewed completely until September 2018, and it will be filled with so-called food courts. For this space, we were looking for a healthy and sustainable solution, also useful in the new Refter. We decided on this salad bar.’
The salad bar is only opened during lunch
The concept is very simple: take a container, fill it with vegetables, weigh it and pay at the register. It costs 1,50 euro per a hundred grams. A good price, according to Niessen. ‘It is cheaper than a lot of other places.’ Facility services chooses to only sell local vegetables. The salad bar is only opened during lunch, from 11.30 until 14.30.

Ze hebben hopelijk toch wel meer bij deze saladebar dan alleen de keuze uit 8 verschillende groente? Waar zijn de kleine garnaaltjes, gehaktballetjes, feta, mozarella, gedroogde tomaat etc?
