New in Nijmegen (2): Minna
Minna Dahl (26) from Denmark was thinking about living in Utrecht, but Nijmegen turned out to be a lot more fun than she thought.
‘Don’t take this as in insult, but I thought there wouldn’t be much to do in Nijmegen. That’s why my plan was to find a room in Utrecht and take the train to Nijmegen every day. But I quickly found out that assumption was far from true. There’s a lot going on and the surroundings are beautiful. Even just walking around and looking at all the old buildings is very enjoyable to me. Nijmegen has everything the larger cities have to offer, but on a smaller scale.
My boyfriend moved with me to the Netherlands. He works fulltime, but from home, so he is very flexible in terms of where we can live. That’s why we were very happy when we were able to find an apartment to rent. That was a big relief. I think we were very lucky, listening to all the stories about the housing market in the Netherlands.
I chose my psychology master in Nijmegen because here I can specialize in behavioral change. I hope to apply all the theories I learned during my bachelor in Odense when I find an internship.’
