Anyone who wants to have lunch on campus this week, doesn’t necessarily have to bring their own lunch box: from Monday, all catering locations on campus will be open. Students who want to watch an online lecture on campus, must reserve a study workplace.
Starting this Monday, at the start of the academic year, it will be busier on campus for the first time in a long time. In line with government policy, Radboud University wants to offer as much physical education as possible. Up to 75 students are welcome per lecture room, although some teachers think it is still too early for physical lectures.
Because all those people also will need to have lunch, all catering locations on campus will open again starting this Monday, a university spokesperson says. In the Refter you can pick up soup and sandwiches during lunch, at coffee bar Panama, and food court Sousa. Hot meals are available at food court Craft between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM.
Reservations
Lunch on campus is also possible at Het Gerecht in the Grotius building and at the FNWI-restaurant Giga-Bite. If you get hungry between lectures, you can visit the Coffeecorner of the UB and the Grotius Building, Q-Bar, Café C and the new Grand Café Iris in the Maria Montessori Building. The Yard (Radboud Sports Centre) is open from 12:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., the Cultuurcafé from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Spar University has also opened its doors since two weeks.
Due to the corona measures, a maximum of 75 people are currently allowed in the catering locations. In the first months of the academic year, teaching rooms can also be reserved as break rooms in the Grotius, Erasmus, Elinor Ostrom, Maria Montessori and perhaps also in the Huygens buildings.
Study workplaces
In the new academic year, many students will have a combination of physical and online lectures, sometimes on the same day. Students who want to take an online lecture on campus must reserve a study workplace. Outside lunch hours , these students can also use the catering locations. These study workplaces do not need to be reserved.
’90 percent of students vaccinated’
Radboud University estimates that 90 percent of its students have been vaccinated against the coronavirus. This is stated in a message on their website. The university bases that percentage on research by Jacqueline Vink, which showed that 88 percent of Radboud University students want to be vaccinated or have already been vaccinated. The university also refers to a statement that 94 percent of the students at Wageningen University have been fully or partially vaccinated, or have an appointment for an injection.
