Christmas menu in the Refter

The Refter has a long tradition when it comes to Christmas menus. Today and tomorrow, you are welcome again for an early holiday dinner.

The Refter already has the spirit of the season. Students can order a special menu for 7.50. Today, the three-course menu consists of a poultry strudel or mushroom pie, tomorrow you can choose between game stew and tortilla. Here’s the complete menu:

Tuesday 13 December 17.00 – 19.00
Soup:
Powerful beef broth, with pulled beef and a hint of Madeira
or
Pumpkin crème with orange and saffron, with caramelised pumpkin seeds (veggie).

Main courses:
Strudel Noël – poultry strudel with apple and gingerbread gravy, turkey, crispy potato and haricots verts
or
Home-made christmas mushroom pie, with nordic rice braised red beetroot with apple, rucola and pesto (veggie).

Dessert:
Vanilla mousse with caramelised apple, spiced biscuit crumble and stroopwafel
or
Mascarpone and yoghurt crème with chocolate brownie and a red fruit compote.

Wednesday 14 December 17.00 – 19.00
Soup:
Creamy smoked fish soup with a confit of codfish and shrimp
or
Asian vegetable soup with fresh vegetables, red pepper and scrambled egg (veggie).

Main course:
Veluwen game stew with pickled onions, duck spring roll, ‘forgotten vegetable’ stew, and stewed pear compote
or
Festive tortilla with peppadew, red onion, manchego and chipotle creme, spicy veggie empanada, gnocchi with green vegetables, garlic and fresh herbs (veggie).

Dessert:
Vanilla mousse with caramelised apple, spiced biscuit crumble and stroopwafel
or
Mascarpone and yoghurt crème with chocolate brownie and a red fruit compote.

There will also be music during the christmas dinners. For three courses, students pay 7.50, and non-students pay 8.50.
