Eating ‘oliebollen’ for the pop choir

13 Dec 2016

This week, the 'oliebollen' (Dutch doughnuts) stand visits the campus again. This year, the annual oliebollen sale supports pop choir Plica Vocalis, that is going to perform at the Radboudumc Amalia Children's hospital.

The oliebollen week lasts until Thursday. Radboud University professors and directors will work in the stand. Everybody in the region can place an order this week, that is delivered to their door.

2000 euros will go to the Plica Vocalis performance. With that money, the choir is able to perform at the Radboudumc Amalia Children’s hospital next spring.

Pop songs
Plica Vocalis celebrates its 25 year anniversary this year and is focussing on famous pop songs. Chairman Wouter van Weert: ‘I am happy that we as a group get the chance to give back to society. The choir hopes to give children extra strength during their recovery by singing ‘power songs’.’

Today, the oliebollen bakers are at the back side of the Huygens building. Wednesday and Thursday, they are in front of the Cultuurcafe. The oliebollen cost 90 cents a piece.
